HVAC marketing services · Residential & light commercial

Qualified calls, not marketing reports

Last updated

Three HVAC marketing services, for a handful of residential and light commercial HVAC contractors at a time: local SEO - your Google Business Profile, reviews and reputation management included - Facebook ads, and HVAC website design. I report on the calls that turned into jobs, not impressions.

Every call and every report is me. Not a junior, not a rotating account manager.

Max 10 clients at a time · No monthly contracts · No setup fee

The service list

HVAC marketing services I provide

Three HVAC marketing services, not nine. Reputation management is not a fourth line item - it sits inside local SEO, because reviews are what move the map pack and charging separately for them is how agencies pad a retainer.

Local SEO for HVAC contractors

What's included

  • Google Business Profile optimisation and weekly posting
  • Service area pages, one for each town you actually cover
  • Citations and directory listings, kept consistent with your NAP
  • Review generation from real jobs, on a system your techs will use
  • Reputation management - responses, monitoring, the lot
Timeline
Month one is fixing what's broken. Calls usually start coming through by the end of month two, and the work compounds from month six onward.
What gets reported
Calls that became booked jobs, and cost per booked job. Not rankings, not impressions.
Pricing
Part of the monthly retainer.
How the local SEO work runs

Facebook ads for HVAC contractors

What's included

  • The offer - the part most HVAC ads get wrong
  • Creative, written and built for residential homeowners
  • Targeting across your service area
  • Ad spend management, with the account in your name
Timeline
Calls within the first week of launching. This is the channel to use when you need work booked this quarter, not next year.
What gets reported
Cost per call, cost per lead, and how many of those calls turned into booked jobs.
Pricing
Part of the monthly retainer. Ad spend sits on top and goes straight to Meta, never through me.
How the ads generate leads

HVAC website design

What's included

  • The build, on a stack you can leave with
  • A layout designed to turn visitors into phone calls
  • Call tracking and analytics set up from day one, feeding your CRM - ServiceTitan integration included if you run it
  • You own the site and the domain outright
Timeline
Project based, quoted and scheduled before anything starts.
Pricing
Priced separately as its own project, never folded into the retainer. No setup fee.
What the website design covers

Not on the list: Google Ads, Local Services Ads and Google Guaranteed, HVAC PPC, email marketing, and social media growth. They are all real channels that work - I am average at all of them, and average at spending your ad budget is not a service worth charging you for. If that is where your money should go, you'll hear it on the first call. The longer version is in the uncomfortable part further down.

No email. No opt-in. Answer and see it.

Six questions, one honest recommendation

Local SEO, Facebook ads, or a new site: the right answer depends on what you already have and how fast you need work. The result appears on this page, straight away.

Money

What HVAC marketing services cost

The answer most agencies make you book a call to hear.

Monthly retainers in local service marketing typically run between $1,500 and $6,000, with ad spend added on top and any website work priced separately. What you actually get for that money varies a lot, so ask three questions before signing anything.

First, who is doing the work day to day? Second, what gets built that you own if you leave? Third, what happens when you want out? If the site, the ads account, and the phone number all stay with the agency, the retainer is not the real price. The real cost is what it takes to walk away.

Mine runs $1,000 to $3,000 a month, under the middle of that range because there is no account management layer to pay for. Local SEO and Facebook ads are one monthly retainer with no contract and no setup fee. Ad spend goes straight to Meta. A website is quoted separately as its own project. You own the site, the domain, the ad account, the tracking number and the Google Business Profile from day one, and all of it leaves with you if we stop.

The name

Why “Honest”?

Because I got tired of watching HVAC contractors pay for marketing they didn't understand - and watching agencies report on things that didn't matter or were outright made up.

Here is what I noticed about marketing agencies since 2013.

  • They fabricated work - listing tasks in a monthly report that nobody actually did.
  • They reported on metrics that don't move revenue - impressions, link counts, keyword rankings - because those are easy to make look good.
  • They chased volume over quality - more leads, more backlinks, more content - without asking whether any of it turned into a booked job.

That is why I started Honest HVAC Marketing - an agency focused on the only numbers that matter to your business: calls that turned into jobs, and what you kept after you paid me.

The uncomfortable part

Five things I'd rather you heard from me

Every agency has a list like this. Most of them let you find out in month three. Here's mine, before you've booked anything.

  • I'm average at Google Ads and social media growth, so I sell neither

I'm good at three things: local SEO for HVAC contractors - which covers your Google Business Profile, your reviews and your reputation management - Facebook ads, and building sites that turn visitors into calls. Google Ads is a separate skill and I'm average at it. Average at spending your money is not a service worth charging for.

Social media growth is the same answer. Building a following, posting job photos daily, replying to comments - people who do that all day do it better than I would, and I'm not going to bill you to be mediocre at it. Two things I do handle. Your Google Business Profile posts get reposted to your social pages, because that content is already written and putting it in a second place costs nothing. And Facebook ads, which is a different job entirely: one is publishing and hoping the right homeowner sees it, the other is putting a specific offer in front of people in your service area who match who you want to reach.

If either is genuinely what you need, you'll hear that on the first call, along with what to look for in someone who does it properly. I don't take a referral fee for that.

  • I use AI in my process, and I won't pretend otherwise

Most agencies using AI keep quiet about it because they assume you'll ask for a discount. That tells you what they're using it for - doing the same work with fewer people.

I use it to do more work, not cheaper work: reading through competitor pages and search data at a volume no one has time for, drafting more variations to test, turning research around in days instead of weeks. A person still edits, checks and signs off on everything that goes live. You're paying for what the marketing produces, not for hours logged.

  • I'm not the cheapest option, but I'm not priced like an agency either

No sales team, no account managers, no setup fee to fund - the retainer only covers the work itself. You can find someone to "do HVAC SEO" for a few hundred a month. What arrives is a report, not results.

If price is the deciding factor, take the cheaper option. That is a fine outcome for both of us, and I would rather say it here than talk you into something you will resent in month two.

  • Local SEO takes three to six months. There is no version where it doesn't

Month one is fixing what's broken and getting your Google profile in order. Calls usually start ticking up by the end of month two. The compounding - the part where you stop paying for every lead - shows up closer to month six.

Anyone promising page one in thirty days is either counting keywords nobody searches or buying links that will cost you later. If you need work booked next week, say so and I'll point you at Facebook ads instead, which turns on in days.

  • It's a small team, and that cuts both ways

Honest HVAC Marketing is a small team - four to six people, ten clients maximum. I oversee every account personally, and the team is kept small on purpose so each client gets proper attention. You talk to the people doing the work, not a middleman.

The trade-off is throughput. I can't turn around six landing pages by Friday the way a forty-person shop can. If your plan needs that kind of volume, tell me before you sign and you'll get a straight answer on whether I can do it.

None of this is on the homepage by accident. If one of them is a dealbreaker, far better you found out here than three months in. If none of them are, book an advisory call and I'll get into the specifics of your market.

Proof

What eight weeks of local SEO looks like

After eight weeks of Honest HVAC Marketing local SEO work, the grid for a residential HVAC contractor in Greenwood, Indiana showed average Google Business Profile position moving from 16.82 to 8.33 and top-three placements moving from zero to 28.99 percent of the grid.

This is a month-two visibility snapshot, not a booked-job claim. The booked-job numbers are not in yet, which is why they are not shown. The compounding effect and booked jobs that follow are still ahead of this scan.

Two side-by-side local ranking grids for a residential HVAC contractor in Greenwood, Indiana. The June 5 2026 baseline is almost entirely red at position 20 or worse. The July 29 2026 scan is mostly green, with an average position of 8.33 and 28.99 percent of the grid in the top three.

Fit check

Who I'm for, and who I'm not

I take on a handful of HVAC contractors at a time, so I'd rather be honest on the homepage than three months into a project.

A great fit if

  • Someone owns the phone. A named person answers or calls back the same day - I can hand them qualified leads.
  • You judge in months. You read the pipeline month over month and give a marketing channel at least three months before deciding on next steps.
  • You know your numbers. Cost per call, call to booked job, average ticket - or you want us to build that tracking with you.
  • You want an opinion. You'd rather hear that your home page is the problem than be told what you hoped for.

Not a fit if

  • Agency-hopping. Four or five HVAC marketing agencies in twelve months and no appetite to sit with a process this time.
  • Broken intake. Calls sit in a voicemail box for two days - more of them will not help you.
  • Full commercial HVAC only. I specialize in residential and light commercial - if you do no residential work at all, I'm not the right fit.
  • Closed to feedback. You want a second opinion validated before you'll act on it.

Questions I get

Asked before every first call

No fluff. If I don't know the answer, I'll say so instead of guessing.

How much should an HVAC company spend on marketing?

Begin with the jobs you actually need, not a percentage pulled from thin air. Figure out how many installs and service calls you want to book next season, then work backward through your close rate. That math will show you what your marketing has to deliver.

For most residential shops, that number ends up between 5% and 10% of revenue. Around 5% will maintain the ground you already have. Around 10% makes sense if you are adding trucks and trying to grow.

If your phone handling is losing calls, put the first dollar there. Fixing that is cheaper than paying to replace leads you already had.

How do I market my HVAC company?

When a system quits, the homeowner searches, taps one of the first few listings and calls whoever answers. So the order is: be in the map pack for your service area using local SEO, send that click to a page that says what you fix and makes calling one tap, then answer the phone the same day.

Reputation sits under all of it: steady reviews from real jobs move the map more than anything you can buy. Facebook ads can get you leads right away, but you need a solid sales process and reviews in place because those leads need both trust and a prompt response to convert.

The more reviews you have on your Google Business Profile and your website, the better.

Beyond traditional search, you also want to show up in AI-generated answers from tools like ChatGPT and Google's AI Overviews. The short version: you need consistent brand mentions across the web from trusted sources - directories, trade associations, review sites - so the AI systems recognize your business as a credible answer.

What is the average cost of a marketing agency?

Monthly retainers in local service marketing typically run between $1,500 and $6,000, with ad spend added on top and any website work priced separately. What you get for that varies a lot, so ask who does the work day to day, what you own if you leave, and what happens when you want out.

The full answer, including how my own pricing is shaped, is further up this page under what HVAC marketing services cost.

Do you run Google Ads or Local Services Ads for HVAC contractors?

No. Google Ads, HVAC PPC and Google Local Services Ads are all real channels that work, and I am average at all three. Average at spending your ad budget is not a service worth charging you for, so I don't sell it.

What I will do is tell you on the first call whether that is where your money should go. Local Services Ads in particular are worth knowing about: they are the Google Guaranteed listings that sit above the map pack, you pay per lead instead of per click, and getting approved means passing a background and license check. For a lot of residential shops they are the fastest way to buy calls. If that is your situation, you'll hear it, along with what to look for in someone who runs them properly. I don't take a referral fee for that.

What I do sell is local SEO, Facebook ads and HVAC website design. Three things, done properly, instead of nine things done adequately.

Do you do content marketing, email marketing or social media marketing?

Not as standalone services. Content marketing overlaps with local SEO, so the pages that need writing to rank your service areas get written as part of that work. What I don't do is run a blog calendar for its own sake. Most HVAC contractors do not need one, and the ones who do are usually better served fixing their service area pages first.

Email marketing and social media growth I leave alone. Building a following, running a newsletter, replying to comments daily - people who do that full time do it better than I would.

The one exception on social: your Google Business Profile posts get reposted to your social pages, because that content is already written as part of your local SEO and putting it in a second place costs nothing.

What HVAC marketing services do you provide?

Three: local SEO, Facebook ads and HVAC website design, with reputation management sitting inside the first one rather than billed as a fourth.

What is in each one, how long each takes and how each is priced is set out in full further up this page under HVAC marketing services I provide.

How do I choose an HVAC marketing agency?

Most HVAC marketing agencies will show you the same deck. Here is what actually separates them.

Ask who does the day to day work. If the person on the sales call is not the person on your account in month two, you are buying a rotating account manager.

Ask what you own if you leave. The website, the domain, the ads account, the tracking number, the Google Business Profile. If any of those stay behind, the retainer is not the real price.

Ask what they refuse to sell. An agency that says yes to Google Ads, HVAC SEO, email, social, video and reputation management is either very large or very average. Ask which one.

Ask what gets reported. Rankings and leads are easy to make look good. Calls that turned into booked jobs are not.

Ask how many HVAC clients they take on at once, and whether any of them compete with you for the same service area.

How quickly can I start getting calls from the work you do?

The timeline depends on which service I am providing. With Facebook ads, you can expect calls to start coming in within the first week of launching. With local SEO, calls usually begin to pick up by the end of the second month.

Who will be managing my account?

Shaurya Jain, founder of Honest HVAC Marketing Agency, will be your point of contact and will be managing your account.

Will I have to sign any long term contract?

No, you don't need to sign a contract, but I'd advise giving any marketing channel at least three months before judging results from it.

Something not covered here? Ask it on the first call - if the honest answer is that you don't need me yet, that is the answer you'll get.

Ready to talk?

One call, twenty minutes. You will get a straight answer on whether local SEO, Facebook ads or a new site is the right move for your HVAC business right now. And if you sign up, there is a 90-day money-back guarantee - if you are not happy with the work, you get a full refund.
