Case study - Facebook ads
$3,000 in Facebook ads, $26,000 in booked work for My Hero Air
Last updated
My Hero Air is a family-owned HVAC company in Chicago, running since 2011. Their Facebook leads cost $55 each. Over four months we cut that to $33 with a $59 tune-up offer, and their techs turned those visits into $26,000 of work.
All case studiesThe numbers, April to July 2026
- $3,000 Total ad spend
- 90 Leads
- $33 Cost per lead, down from $55
- 22 Booked jobs
- $26,000 Revenue from those jobs
- $8.67 Back for every $1 spent on ads
The problem: $55 a lead
My Hero Air was already running Facebook ads. They brought in leads, but each one cost $55, and not every lead turns into a job. At that price the ads were hard to justify month after month.
They didn't need more people seeing ads. They needed a cheaper way to get a tech inside the house.
What we changed
Two changes. Nothing clever, both specific.
-
Step 1
One offer: a $59 tune-up
Every ad led with one price, a $59 tune-up. A homeowner can say yes to $59 without much thought, which is the point. The tune-up isn't there to make money. It's there to get a tech in the door.
-
Step 2
Let the visit do the selling
On site, the tech checks the whole system. When something needs fixing, the homeowner hears it from the person standing next to their unit, not from an ad. That fits how My Hero Air already works: repair-first, no pushy sales.
What $3,000 turned into
90 homeowners asked for the tune-up and 22 booked. Those 22 visits produced $26,000 in work. The $59 tune-ups themselves were only about $1,300 of that. The rest was repairs and upgrades the techs found on site.
That's $8.67 back for every $1 spent on ads, and $136 in ad spend per booked job.
What this doesn't prove
Four months, one market, one offer. The $26,000 depends on techs finding real problems and explaining them well. My Hero Air's team did that part, not us. A shop that skips the inspection or pushes hard on every visit won't get the same number.
Revenue is what My Hero Air reported to us. It's the value of the jobs, not profit.
